5 Tips for Lessening Your Stress During the Pandemic

Stress has become a regular part of life during quarantine. Fortunately, there are ways to fight against it without even going outside. If this is something you’re interested in, here are five tips for lessening your stress during the pandemic.

  1. Try CBD

One trend that has grown immensely popular lately is the use of CBD. CBD, or cannabidiol, is meant to provide the relaxing effects of marijuana without the high. Because of this, numerous people with anxiety and similar problems have been using the chemical compound. It’s available in ice cream, coffee, lotions and countless other products. If you’re a candy lover, you can also try CBD gummies. Whatever form you choose, you may find that CBD helps to soothe your anxiety.

  1. Begin Writing

Writing, in any form, can be incredibly therapeutic. Essentially, it allows you to analyze your thoughts and word each one eloquently. You can put a full encapsulation of your innermost feelings on paper.  Sure, writing may be boring or even stressful for you, especially when you’re using it to do a self-examination. However, you can control how you write. Making lists or writing from someone else’s perspective could be more comfortable for you. You can also just write for fun! Afterward, you may become more relaxed and aware of your own mental state.

  1. Create a Schedule

For a lot of people, quarantining has created a seemingly endless period of free time. While you may have been aching for this time a while back, it could be damaging your mental state now. Spending too much time alone with your thoughts can be dangerous. Therefore, you might want to make a detailed schedule for yourself. This schedule may look a little odd, especially if you aren’t currently employed, but it can keep you busy. If you don’t know what to fill your free time with, start off by making goals for yourself. Once you have a list of goals, figure out how you can work towards each one. These tasks should be put in your schedule on a regular basis. You may also want to make a list of menial tasks for times when you’re feeling down. The simple act of completing an activity, no matter how trivial, can help to get your mind off dark subject matter.

  1. Video Chat Regularly

Even if you’re an introvert, chances are you’re feeling lonely during quarantine. This is especially true if you live far away from your friends and loved ones. Loneliness can often result in stress, especially if you have no one to share your concerns with regularly. Fortunately, video chatting makes it possible to have a full conversation from miles away. While you can’t hug your loved ones, you can get support and love at any time. Try to schedule video chats on a regular basis to get as much interaction as possible. For instance, you may want to chat with your friend group or parents at least once a week.

  1. Redecorate

Quarantining has forced everyone to spend an enormous amount of time in homes. Therefore, you may have gotten absolutely sick of your room by now. In this case, it can be comforting to try some redecorating. Doing so might give you the sensation of being in a new environment. Start by examining your furniture. If you can move some things around, try creating a whole new furniture layout. You may want to move your desk towards natural light or turn your bed around. If you’re interested in doing more, try changing up your colors or designs. Be sure to keep the vibe light-hearted in order to lessen your stress.

Whenever you experience stress during this time, remember that you’re by no means alone in this feeling. Therefore, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Just keep fighting your stress one day at a time. If you keep at it, you may find yourself becoming more relaxed in the long run.
